“Jessica is a wonderful Labor Doula, and I highly recommend her! She is kind, generous, and caring. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on November 30, 2014, Jessica was available by phone, text, and email to answer any questions and provide support. She provided us with educational materials specific to our needs. Jessica is very well educated and full of wonderful information. We came up with a birth plan together and she was very helpful with that and informing us of our rights and options while laboring as well as after labor. During my labor, she was truly awesome! I was very adamant about not wanting an epidural because of the experiences I had with my first pregnancy. Labor pains were intense, but Jessica was able to help me get through them with lots of encouragement, essential oils, and massage! Jessica was a steady and calm, yet powerful presence as she supported me through every contraction, hour after hour! She continued to remind me of my birth plan, as well as reminding the medical staff of my birth plan. Jessica played a significant part in making my labor and delivery be a very positive experience I remember it to be! Without her, I expect my labor would have been very overwhelming. Having Jessica there made my labor as calm and peaceful as it could possibly have been! If we have another child, I am most definitely asking Jessica to be my Labor Doula again!"
“Jessica was a wonderful resource for my husband and I, as first time parents. She assisted us with making a birth plan that was just what we wanted and provided us with information on what to expect through the birthing process. She was able to break medical jargon down for my husband to fully understand. Jessica even provided us with recipes to prepare and freeze prior to delivery. She was always there when I had a question along the way and advised me to call my physician when appropriate. Postpartum she was always a phone call or text message away when I was uncertain about certain issues, whether it was about bodily changes for me, newborn baby uncertainties, or breastfeeding difficulties. Jessica was very helpful throughout our first laboring experience. "
"From the beginning, I wanted a different birth experience this second time around so decided to seek prenatal care from a group of midwives and hire a doula. From the first time I spoke with Jessica, I instantly felt comfortable and knew she would be a great source of support no matter how the actual labor were to go. I was induced last Saturday afternoon somewhat unexpectedly and Jessica came to the hospital immediately with her bag of labor goodies. From keeping conversation lighthearted and hilarious during the beginning stages, helping with different laboring positions as things got tougher, and providing encouragement and stellar massages throughout those final labor stages, I seriously could not have done it without Jessica's help and guidance. Our beautiful Cora made her grand debut late Saturday night, and I'm so glad Jess was there with me! Thank you so much, Jessica!! You were amazing!"
"My husband and I hired Jessica for postpartum support. She assisted us with caring for our twins who both have special needs at this time. She helped with meal preparation , getting us rest, emotional support, and breastfeeding support. She really was awesome with our two girls. I would recommend her to anyone needing support during such a hard transition. I wish I had her during my birth."
"There are times when you meet a complete stranger and you're blown away by the impact they have in special moments of your life, its hard to describe the feeling of gratitude when you see the comfort that person gives to a loved one and they instantly become one of the family. Jessica Raines was that person to me, to our family. My beloved little sister had hired Jessica as her doula early on in her pregnancy and was carrying a healthy 6 month old baby boy. A horrifying accident occurred and my sister discovered "L" had passed away and she was now forced to deliver him in a way she had never expected. As our entire family was coated in grief and shock, Jessica came in bearing tools of comfort, distraction, memorialization, and strength. Jessica remembered everything my sister had wanted for her birth, most importantly, a medicine free birth, and Jessica helped her bring "L" into the world EXACTLY on her terms... finally, something my sister could be in control of. Jessica helped her with recording his footprints, getting pictures, calling the Reverend, planning the memorial service; from start to finish she was there as a strong support post for my sister and us all. In times of tragedy or joy, a doula is truly a wonderful companion and makes a difference in the lives of all involved. Thank you Jessica."
